If you are applying to the Master of Design degree, you must hold a recognized 4 year Bachelor of Design, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Media Arts, or Bachelor of Architecture degree or a comparable degree/experience.
Your minimum grade point average must be 3.0 (B) or higher from an accredited university or institute.
Applicants holding a bachelor's degree in an unrelated field may apply. Applicants holding a three-year bachelor's degree may apply if it is equivalent to a four-year Canadian degree. Please contact us for more information.

As an applicant that demonstrates experience toward eligibility outside our academic requirements, you may qualify for flexible admission to our graduate degree programs. Please note that experience beyond standard academic eligibility is intended to recognize excellence and expertise in specific creative fields.
If you wish to be considered for flexible admission, you must self-identify during your application process by contacting the Graduate Studies office by email. You may be required to submit additional documents in support of your application.
Should you be successfully admitted through the flexible admission process, you may be required to complete specific admission conditions that will be defined in your offer of admission from Emily Carr University.
