Loan Periods
Holds/Renewals/RequestsLog into 'Your Account' (button on the top of all library web pages) to place or see your holds and all items on loan to you. Log in using the same username as your ECU email, and the password defaults to the last 4 digits of your phone number (unless you changed it). If you forgot your password, you can request a new one from the account log in page.
RecallsA recall will be placed on an item if it's checked out and another patron places a hold on it. The patron with the item has 2 weeks to return it without being fined.
FinesThe library has eliminated most overdue fines on books and media. Fees and fines still apply for overdue items requested by another borrower, library equipment, course reserves, and materials acquired through Interlibrary Loan. Please renew and return items responsibly.

Library Account InformationContact the service desk:
Book Drop/Returning booksYou can return library materials to the book drop outside the library on the 2nd floor of the university. The ECU campus is only open to current students, staff and faculty who have completed the online safety orientation.

For Alumni or Community Borrowers, they do not have access to campus. We ask them to continue to keep any books they have checked out until the university reopens to the public. Questions or concerns can be directed to Emma Somers.

Equipment + Facilities

Internet AccessThere are currently no public computers available in the library.
Wireless AccessStudents should use their ECU credentials to log in to the ECUAS-Student Wifi
Staff and Faculty should use their ECU credentials to log in to the ECUAD Wifi
Guests can request access to the ECUAD-Guest Wifi, or find a poster with the login details
How to connect to campus wifi
PhotocopiersPhotocopiers are currently not available.
ScannersLibrary scanners are not available.

Other scanners on campus:

(1) Legal Size scanner in each Mac Lab (rooms B1110, B1122, D3360, B4115)
(1) Tabloid scanner in the DOC public area (room C4230)


Library printers are not currently available. All other self serve printer areas on campus are accessible and operating.

Print jobs can be sent from anywhere on campus, or from personal laptops (see IT website for more information about installing a print driver on personal computers)

Print card vending machines are operating as usual. New cards can be purchased and existing cards can have value added to them using bills and coins. These machines are on the 1st or 3rd floor of the university (next to the elevators).

  • colour tabloid $1.30

In addition, the Digital Output Centre (DOC) can be contacted to discuss and arrange printing and other services.
