In the begrudging times of Covid-19, many of us are forced to wrangle with the “new normal”. However, artists are also working hard to find a sense of meaning and for many, that takes the form of drafting, tinkering, and playing. The nine virtual rooms in this virtual gallery comprise of representations, unique interpretations, and arguable implications of what it is like to experience the world today.

“Anti-Social” is an apt name for the physical distancing, and in some cases, lockdown situations sanctioned by governments in order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. The social, political, and economical impacts of this disease is still to be determined, but may we share the lens of 25 artists that perhaps can shed some light on how to deal. The artists are as diverse as the media they work in, ranging from painting, audio, video, sculpture, ink, photography, and text.

Because of physical distancing protocols, we will be hosting a virtual opening reception. Please join us during this event for artist talks, performances, and discussions. This event will be hosted live by Yactac members: Janice Cheung, Justine Cheung, Karen Ngan, and Peggy Ngan.
