Artist Bio:
Caroline Monnet is a multidisciplinary artist of Anishinaabe Algonquin and French heritage, based in Mooniyang/Montreal and originally from the Outaouais region. Trained in sociology and communications at the University of Ottawa and the University of Granada, her practice engages Indigenous lived realities through Anishinaabeg methodologies that challenge colonial narratives and reimagine contemporary systems.
Working across visual art and cinema, Monnet has presented solo exhibitions at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Frankfurt Kunsthalle, and the Centre International d’Art et du Paysage (France), and participated in major international exhibitions including the Whitney Biennial, the Toronto Biennial of Art, and the National Gallery of Canada.
