Dan Pon and Kira Saragih will present about the process of writing creative access descriptions (similar to image descriptions), specifically for artworks and archival materials. They will relate this work to developing and enacting strategies for a more accessible digital collection, drawing from their work with grunt’s digital archive, which documents forty years of artist-run programming, as well as theoretical and practical learnings from participation in grunt’s accessibility work. After their presentation, Dan and Kira will facilitate writing creative access descriptions for a selection of prints from the ECU Print Collection.
