Emily Carr library research members are available for drop-in online chat Monday - Friday 10:30am - 5pm. If we miss your chat request, or you are using AskAway outside of those times, you will get help from another BC post-secondary library team member.

Writing Centre Appointments

The Writing Centre website is a valuable source of information about citing your sources, types of writing, editing and revising, and professional practice.

Library Materials

Contactless Pick-Up

ECU students, staff and faculty are able to pick up holds from the library through contactless pick-up. Any items you would like to borrow must be put on hold through our library catalogue. When they are ready for you to pick up you will receive an email and you can come to the main doors during pick-up hours. Pick-up hours are as follows:
Monday + Wednesday: 12:30 - 4:30pm
Thursday: 10am - 2pm

You will need to follow university COVID-19 safety protocols while on campus.

All items taken out from the library this fall are checked out for the entire semester. If another person requests an item you have out, you will be notified by email and if it is safe/possible for you to return it, that would be appreciated. Overdue fines will not be charged.

Library Materials Checked Out

Students, staff and faculty can return library materials during campus open hours through the book return in the hallway outside the library. For your safety, all returned items are held for 72 hours before they can be borrowed again.

You will not be charged fines for items currently marked as overdue or lost.

Replacement fees for any items marked as lost will be waived once the materials are returned.

Interlibrary Loan

We will still be fulfilling Interlibrary Loan requests for electronic articles, but this service depends on other institutions having staff available to supply the resources.

Interlibrary Loans for books will be suspended until further notice.
