Thomas Girard Awarded Emerging Scholars Award for the Twelfth International Conference on Design Principles + Practices

A 2005 alumnus, Girard is a Sessional Instructor in both the degree and Continuing Studies programs.
Congratulations to Thomas Girard (2005) for being awarded a 2018 Emerging Scholars Award from The Twelfth International Conference on Design Principles + Practices in Barcelona, Spain! This award is given to outstanding graduate students and emerging scholars who have an active research interest in the conference themes, which this year, is No Boundaries Design.
No stranger to having his academic work recognized, Girard holds distinction as an RBC Emerging Scholar by the Royal Bank of Canada Foundation. While he currently teaches courses at his alma mater, he has taught undergraduate level interaction design in three countries, including Canada, India, and China. Thomas will be a chairperson in the themed panel sessions at the International Conference on Design Principles + Practices.
The International Conference on Design Principles + Practices draws scholars and leaders in the field from around the globe, and is a program of the Design Principles + Practices Research Network. The Design Principles & Practices Research Network traverses a broad sweep to construct a trans-disciplinary dialogue, which encompasses a wide array of design paradigms and practices.
