Josh works in art and design education to help others expand their horizons in sound and media.

Josh is the studio technician for the New Media + Sound Art program. He hosts workshops and supports practices involving sound synthesis, field recording, multichannel installation, post-production and many other advanced media techniques. He also maintains the NMSA sound and media labs. Josh is involved in many facets of sound. He has worked as a recording and mastering engineer, in post-production, for independent record labels, and helping artists with sound and media installations. He has been involved in underground experimental music since the early 1990s. He makes music as well as video art and perform under the name magneticring.
