Theatrical Mask - to hide. to transform. to scare.

My mask is revolving around 3 concepts behind a ritual masks: hiding, transforming and scaring.

A full-face mask represent hiding. The abstract, asymmetric, organic pattern is to fear. And, the integrated blue LEDs is to transform and to scare. 

The mask is inspired by two architectures: the Airspace in Tokyo, and the Watercube in Beijing. The layering of the mask gives depth and complexity to it. Also, it carefully hides the eyes of the character to give it a sense of mystery and fear. When pressing the two buttons by the ears, 4 blue LED will light up the mask. The idea is to mimic the gesture of making silly faces with your hands when we were kids.
