COMD 203: Design Photo: Analog Imaging

This studio/lab course introduces students to the fundamentals of photographic and lens-based imaging in relation to communication design applications. Through illustrated lectures, demonstrations and design-oriented production assignments and critique sessions, students gain creative, technical, professional and critical skills which enable them to make, interpret and analyze photographic imagery in relation to design vocabulary and cultural, aesthetic, social, and technological contexts. Traditional image making equipment, materials, techniques, and processes are covered from historical and contemporary perspectives.

Priority is given to COMD and INTD students in Year 2. Students outside of the registration priority group may register/waitlist for this course as of the registration rule release date.
