International Student Tuition + Fees

At ECU your citizenship status usually determines whether you will pay domestic or international fees. There are a few exceptions.

If you are not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada, you will be required to pay international tuition fees unless you are eligible for one of the following exceptions.

You may be eligible for domestic tuition fees at ECU if:

  • You are a Canadian citizen, or you hold multiple citizenships and one of them is Canadian.
  • You are a permanent resident of Canada.
  • You have refugee status in Canada.
  • You are the dependent of a diplomat assigned to Canada.
  • You have an affiliation with an Indigenous nation of Canada (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit).
  • You are in Canada with an employer-specific, full-time, long-term work permit.
  • You are the dependent or spouse of an individual who is in Canada with an employer-specific, full-time, long-term work permit.

Please check the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website for other special circumstance exceptions.

If you are eligible for one of these exceptions, provide supporting documentation to intadvising@ecuad.ca before the tuition fee payment deadline.
