Continuing Studies Instructor - User Experience (UX) Design Certificate

Continuing Studies Department at Emily Carr University of Art + Design requires experienced instructors to teach within the new User Experience (UX) Design Certificate program.

UI Design Principles

We are looking for an instructor to teach UI Design Principles for our Fall (September) cohorts. Courses are in session Monday to Friday 1:30pm-5:30pm. Click the link for more information.

Developed in consultation with industry professionals, this program features current trends and innovations in user experience design. Research, critical thinking, problem solving, communication and collaboration are emphasized throughout. Students develop a professional portfolio and complete the program with a range of in-demand skills that employers are looking for.

The User Experience (UX) Design Certificate is a 7-month full-time intensive program with intakes in September and April each year. The program offers 4 hours of in-class time, 5 days a week, for a total of 7 months (29 weeks).

Continuing Studies Instructor - CAPP 098 Creative Arts Pathway Program: Reading and Writing for Art and Design

The Continuing Studies Department at Emily Carr University of Art + Design is seeking an experienced ESL/ESOL instructor to teach CAPP 098 Reading and Writing for Art and Design, a 12-week course (total 144 hours).

This course is offered through the Creative Art Pathways Program (CAPP), a 12-week program for English Language Learners (ESL/multilingual students) who have received a conditional offer of admission to Emily Carr University of Art + Design, but who do not meet the English Language proficiency requirements for admission. This program provides English proficiency upgrading courses and also allows students to take Emily Carr studio courses. The Creative Art Pathway Program (CAPP) consists of three components: CAPP 098 Reading and Writing for Art and Design, CAPP 099 Listening and Speaking for Art and Design, and FNDT 165 Core Interdisciplinary Studio.

As a part of a collaborative teaching team, the CAPP 098 Instructor reports to the Manager of Youth + Community Programs, and works closely with other program instructors and staff. The CAPP 098 Instructor is responsible for teaching the CAPP 098 curriculum, supporting student learning and engagement, and developing related teaching materials.
