2010 Speaker Series | Dexter Sinister
Emily Carr University of Art + Design announces our second speakers in our Spring 2010 Speaker Series, Stuart Bailey and David Reinfurt, an internationally respected duo known as Dexter Sinister.
Operating as a workshop and bookstore on New York's Lower East Side, Dexter Sinister also participates in exhibitions in North America and Europe. Their work bridges the domains of graphic design and fine art, often involving the participation of other writers, musicians, and artists in projects. Dexter Sinister participated in the 2008 Whitney Biennial. They recently participated in Performa 09 and have been included in exhibitions at the Kunstverein München, 2008; and in 2007 at Centre d'Art Contemporain, Geneva; the Architectural Association, London; Store Gallery, London; and the Swiss Institute, New York.
Each semester, Emily Carr’s various lecture series bring to campus the unique and diverse perspectives of world-renowned artists, architects, designers, curators, scholars, and writers. Each speaker presents their work and invites the audience to participate in a critical discussion. The primary mission of the Speaker Series Program is to foster cross-disciplinary discussions around topical issues in contemporary art, design, and media.
Lectures are free and open to the public, however, space is limited.
