Nay'-Chem Was "The Talking Stick" Exhibition at the Roundhouse
Nay’-Chem Was “The Talking Stick” is an exhibit of Indigenous artists who were asked to exhibit their own version of the Talking Stick. Artists in the show include second year student Lance Cardinal, assistant professor Merritt Johnson, Peter Morin (’01), Dionne Paul (’06), Michelle Sylliboy (’01), sessional faculty member Janice Toulouse, Charlene Vickers (’94) and Xwalacktun (Rick Harry) (’82).
The works of art are based on a contemporary or traditional version of the Talking Stick. The artists bring their vision to the circle doing their work as visionaries, inspiring the people to speak their own voice.
