  • Prepare the surface (canvas or board) with gesso
  • Transfer the working sketch/composition

Prepare 2 canvas/panels for diptych

Research/process

  • Each student will pick a favorite painter/colorist and study a colour scheme
  • Extract the 5 colours from selected painting at  http://kuler.adobe.com/#
  • Research & apply Master’s painting techniques & style
Production
  • Each student will make one painting as a part of the diptych
  • Use Master’s colour scheme and limited palette
  • Make a composition for a diptych in collaboration
  • Decide on size & shape of the paintings
  • Diptych will be presented as one (collaborative) piece

Each student will find alternative colour resources (food, dirt, plants…) and extract main colours of their palette. Please note: It is important to keep track of records of the process, which will be presented as the “manual” of your colour theory, together with the finished product (painting).

Combine painting with other media: performance, photo-based, digital, video, etc. Each student will focus on separate work segment

  • first - write a statement
  • second - experiment & test materials
  • third - additional aspects to the project - performance, installation

Project 05 HERE

Make a digital artwork and print it; paint over the print; scan and continue working in the computer; repeat this process several times.
