This fall, the StrongerBC future skills grant is back – offering eligible British Columbians up to $3,500 in funding to train for in-demand design careers at Emily Carr University Continuing Studies.

The StrongerBC future skills grant empowers British Columbians to shape their own futures. The grant covers up to $3,500 for eligible short-term skills training to support learners to stack their skills and further their careers. If you're a B.C. resident aged 19 or older, you may qualify.
Four new micro-certificates from Emily Carr University of Art + Design (ECU) offer focused, hands-on pathways to build crucial knowledge and sought-after skills in design leadership and user interface (UI) design.
In two to eight weeks, these short-format programs combine flexible learning with practical skill-building, supporting your growth as a creative professional and helping you shape the next evolution of your career.

UI Design Micro-Certificates
Perfect for creatives and career changers ready to break into tech.
- UI Design Foundations (Online, 8 weeks) – Learn to design intuitive digital experiences with industry tools.
- UI Visual Design (On-campus, 8 weeks) – Explore storytelling, interaction, and motion design.
Design Leadership Micro-Certificates
Designed for experienced designers ready to lead.
- UX/UI Design Leadership Essentials (Online, 8 weeks) – Collaborate with stakeholders and lead design with purpose.
- UX/UI Design Visioning + Team Leadership (On-campus, 2 immersive weeks) – Strengthen your leadership approach and mentor creative teams.
