Blaine Campbell - a repurposed architecture
Blaine Campbell (07) has a solo exhibition, a repurposed architecture, at Republic Gallery.
The exhibition presents a series of large format photographs from a complex in Istanbul, a structure that once acted as a monastery, became a prison, then a school, and is now slated to be become part of the fine arts college. This is Blaine's first solo exhibition with Republic Gallery. In 2007, his graduation project received the national award in the BMO 1st Art! competition as well as the Contemporary Art Society of Vancouver graduation award. His work can also be seen until June 12th in the show Search/Research: Contemporary Landscapes at the Surrey Art Gallery.
