Etienne Zack - Occulture

Art45 is proud to present Occulture, an exhibition by Canadian painter Etienne Zack (00). In this latest series of works, the artist continues his reflection on painting. From references to canonical images (Velázquez’ Las Meninas, Delacroix’s La Liberté guidant le peuple) to studio work and the mechanisms of the art market, Etienne Zack observes the history of painting as well as its modern-day state. Through his questioning of the realities of contemporary visual culture, the painter invites us to consider the visible and hidden forces within painting.
