Revolutions - Forms That Turn: Canada at the 16th Biennale of Sydney

Six Canadian artists, including Janet Cardiff and Georges Bures Miller, Geoffrey Farmer (92), Rodney Graham, Brian Jungen (92), Tim Lee and Michael Snow will be exhibiting in the 16th Biennale of Sydney from June 18 to September 7, 2008.

The Biennale of Sydney has partnered with the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery in Vancouver to have these artists participate in Australia's 2008 festival of contemporary art. Scott Watson, Director/Curator of the gallery, is this years' Canadian Commissioner to the Biennale and will also be in Sydney during this event.

While Canada has been involved in the Biennale for most of its long and illustrious history, this year is Canada's strongest participation in the event. Titled Revolutions - Forms That Turn, the 2008 Biennale of Sydney is curated by Artistic Director Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev. With more than 180 participating artists, the Biennale will navigate the different ways artists have ‘revolutionised' contemporary art.
