After more than 120 studio visits, the Vancouver Art Gallery as assembled an exhibition of some of the most compelling new work being produced in the province. How Soon is Now: Contemporary Art from Here, brings together 34 British Columbia artists working in sculpture, painting, video, audio, architectural interventions, site-specific projects, performances and events.

How Soon is Now includes: Abbas Akhavan, sessional faculty; Sonny Assu (02); Cedric Bomford (03); Aaron Carpenter, former student; Brady Cranfield, sessional faculty; Hadley + Maxwell (98); Christian Kliegel (04); Kristi Malakoff (05); Kyla Mallett (00); Damian Moppett (92); Samuel Roy-Bois, sessional faculty; Kevin Schmidt (96); Ken Singer (98) current sessional instructor; Kathy Slade, Gallery Assistant and sessional faculty; Mark Soo (99); Erica Stocking (04); Kara Uzelman (04), and Holly Ward, sessional faculty. The exhibit is curated by Kathleen Ritter (00), assistant curator.

The Vancouver Art Gallery is offering a special admission rate of $10 to ECU students, Friday February 20, 2009. This offer includes a copy of the exhibition poster. Students must present a valid student ID card.
