Alumni Shortlisted for RBC Canadian Painting Competition

Julie Beugin (04), Brenda Draney (09 MAA), and Daniel Hutchinson (04) have been selected as semi-finalists for the 11th Annual RBC Canadian Painting Competition.

One national winner and two honourable mentions will be selected from the semi-finalists and awarded $25,000 and $15,000, respectively. The winners will be announced October 7, 2009, and all paintings will be exhibited at the Musee d'art contemporain, Montreal. The three winning paintings will then travel to Toronto, where they will be displayed at the Toronto International Art Fair, October 22-26, followed by an exhibition at the Power Plant, TO, November 21-29, 2009.

Daniel Hutchinson was also awarded Honourable Mention for the Halifax Mayor's Award of Distinction.
