Bon Appetype Foundry

The aim of the project was to invent a small, fictional type foundry that houses a collection of typefaces. In the format of a type catalogue-in-motion, we were to use kinetic typography as a vehicle to communicate the merits of the foundry’s types.

Bon Appetype Foundry serves as a typographic restaurant cruise that features a collection of six typefaces: Bodoni, Archer, Kepler, Eames Century, Miller & Lobster. Each typographic dish provides guests with a flavour of the typeface in motion. Since the goal of this project was to design a Type Catalogue in Motion and give it a brand, I chose to present my foundry as a cruise restaurant & make it delicious. The branding of Bon Appetype Foundry seeks to conjure a sense of comfort, balance, and energy. The Music is a mixture of Kalimba + Whiplash by Mr. Scruff and Ninja Tuna • Disco Strobe by Cristian Marchi • Now You're Gone by Felix Baumgartner and Juan Kidd feat. Lisa Millett • and Pioneers by The Lighthouse and The Whaler.
