ANIM 345: Layout 1

The student is introduced to the principles of layout as they relate to animation. Students explore creative and practical solutions for layout scene design to tell effective stories. Problem-solving is applied to issues of storyboard analysis, editorial continuity, cinematography, and staging of a scene with characters. Structural drawing methods address perspective, composition, style and rendering of characters, objects, and environments. Basic expression of emotion, mood and atmosphere are introduced through effects of colour, texture, design, and lighting.
