DRWG 218: Studio: Process/Transformation

This studio course provides focused studio time for the development of a series of transformative and imaginative drawings. Students will engage with inventive methods of working, such as mapping, conceptual, and time-based approaches. They will utilize observation to prompt abstract artworks and installations. Students will experiment with media, techniques, and concepts that challenge dominant drawing practices. They will develop a stronger awareness of material possibilities and methods of working that respond to the senses. The course will include readings, artist presentations, field trips or other activities as forms of research.
