FNDT 148: Painting: Observ + Desc

Focuses on painting from observation, with specific reference to the portrait and still life. Students develop critical and technical painting skills through a series of projects that examine historical and contemporary aspects of these genres. By producing a number of studies and paintings, students learn to apply a variety of acrylic and oil painting techniques, including grisaille, under-painting, and glazing. Through this process students develop their abilities to observe and describe.
