GSML 520: Illus in Context - Historic

This graduate course is designed to broaden awareness of the illustrator's role in history. Relationships between illustration and ever-changing social and political trends, fine art movements and technological advances will be explored. Students are expected to research practitioners, their methods and styles, as they expand their understanding of the role of the individual illustrator in relation to the larger cultural production of images.
