INDD 409: New Materials

This course will provide students with an opportunity to research investigate and discover new and innovative materials and processes and then, apply a selected material to product design. The material research will cover a large spectrum of materials including plastics, ceramics, fibers, metals and composites. The main focus of this studio is to acquire knowledge about expressive, functional and structural qualities of new materials in order to develop more experimental approach toward design.

Prerequisites: 

INDD 314, 315, 316, 317, or 318 (or INDD 310 Industrial Design Workshop IV)
