NMSA 204: Creative COMP for Live Visuals

This course introduces students to new media practices involving live visual computation and manipulation of visual media for interactive installation or performance. The course introduces the use of computers and other hardware to merge visual material or data, with control interfaces to produce real-time visual media for display. Students are introduced to techniques for live media, such as live animation, VJ'ing, interactive video, and visuals for performance, through workshops on the use of software that may include Max/MSP or Touch Designer. The course consists of lectures and assignments building towards an individual or collaborative project. No previous coding experience necessary.
