NMSA 304: Crtv. Comp - Live Vis.+Sounds

This course focuses on contemporary practices that mesh computer programming with audio and visual media to create new media performances and installations. The course emphasizes how sound data can be used to create visual display, and/or how visual input can be used to output sound, and how the relation between live sound and visuals can generate meaning. Students will be given techniques employed by media and sound art professionals engaged in practices such as VJ and music performance, live animation, and interactive installations, through workshops on the use of software that may include Max/MSP or Touch Designer.
