PHOT 100: Introductory Photography

This course introduces the basics of photography as an art form. Students will learn to operate cameras, process film and make and present prints. They will also learn to critique their own work and others' work as well as beginning to establish personal directions within the medium. Technical and conceptual assignments, darkroom and studio workshops, group critiques, and lectures/Audio Visual presentations introduce a range of approaches and processes. This is a recommended course for students intending to enter the BFA Photography major program. It is also a prerequisite for further Photography courses taken by non-photography major students.
