SOCS 302: The Ethics of Representation

This course offers the opportunity to study community engagement from an ethical perspective and introduces appropriate methodologies for sustainable community relationships, cultural diversity and social activism. Through an examination of specific historic and cultural contexts such as ethnography, documentary practices, social justice, accessibility, and environmental studies, this course will address ethics broadly in art, media, and design practice. Assignments are research-based and integrated with studio practices and professional internships.
