SOUN 205 SU01: Sound Essentials

This course is an introduction to thinking and working with sound. It covers acoustics, digital audio properties, production techniques, composition and listening practices. Students will work on multiple components, which include recording, editing, synthesizing, and organizing sound, and explore sound in context with music, screens, video games and culture. Short projects provide opportunities to practice a variety of common and experimental techniques. No experience in sound or music is necessary, just open ears.
