Emerging Spaces in Design | Faculty of Design + Dynamic Media Forum

Emily Carr's Faculty of Design + Dynamic Media is holding a Design Forum Emerging Spaces in Design. The forum features the work of some of our best fourth year Communication, Interaction and Industrial Design students.

This is a great opportunity to see what Design at Emily Carr is all about and meet a few of our faculty and students. The projects encompass a wide range of outcomes, including tablet based apps, medical assistive devices, and new ideas on storytelling, all sharing an enthusiasm for research-based design applied to socially relevant problems.

3D [FWD] - An International Conference on 3D Technology

Emily Carr’s S3D Centre and The International 3D Society will host 3D[FWD], a conference focused on the business of 3D, on January 24 and 25 at the Vancity Theatre. The conference brings together leaders from a cross-section of industries, such as healthcare, advertising, entertainment, and digital media to explore the impact of 3D technology in today’s marketplace and for the future.

W/HERE | 5th ELIA Leadership Symposium

Emily Carr and the European League of Institutes of the Arts (ELIA) are pleased to present the programme of the 5th ELIA Leadership Symposium: ‘W/Here: Contesting Knowledge in the 21st Century.’

W/Here brings together leaders from art schools across the globe for an important and timely discussion of the changing role of art education today. Art and design learning in the 21st century has been transformed, in large part as a result of the explosion of digital cultures and the acceleration generated by attendant technologies.

Second Nature Lab | September 2011

Continuing Studies is excited to introduce Second Nature Lab, a creative and experimental investigation of the relationship between humans and the natural world. Design-builds, public walks, workshops and events will investigate topics such as technology, sustainable design, agriculture, and food fermentation. Through the lenses of art, design, technology and architecture, Second Nature Lab brings together a diverse cast of thinkers and makers to collaborate and exchange ideas for regeneration.
