Playful DisPlay: Contemplating McLuhan’s View of the Modern Cadaver

description

For Enculturation's Special Issue on Marshall McLuhan, the paper is written from the perspective of science teacher (with a nursing background) in the context of the University of Art and Design--where students of all ages have access to the cadver to draw, learn from and contemplate the effect of the cadaver on society.  Marshall McLuhan's approach to the playful new cadaver brings keen attention to the body as plastination technology that shifts our perspective from previous associations with the dead to toy with our senses anew.
