Meowmate is an Online shared platform for cat lovers to inspire each other.
The project is starting from an idea of multipurpose cat carrier, but it is not just a carrier, it is a mobiletransporter for cats. The project is inspired from my cat. The idea extend to website during theyear, because design is such valuable creativity, why not share them to public and get some feedback?The cat figures are designed for the website. The faces on the cats are the icons in the website.Therefore, a series of figures are designed.

Furry Friend Project is a group project with Cassie Chuang to communicate a valuable topic to the general public using campaign elements. We need to create a strategy in order to promote our message through appropriate design components. The campaign theme we decided to focus on in the promotion of pet adoption at animal shelters.

For this project, I created a website that were inspired by 'parallax scrolling website,' which gives websites a great opportunity to:

1) Wow viewers with page depth and animation
2) Take a story-telling approach to guide visitors through the site
3) Make page visits last longer by encouraging visitors to scroll through the entire page
4) Provoke curiosity
5) Direct visitors to calls to action

The Western Front project involved building the architecture and web interface for archiving tens of thousands of artistic artefacts collected by Western Front since the early 1970s. Designed by Post Projects and developed by Morten Rand-Hendriksen the site required advanced artist and art work indexing and the ability to incorporate audio, video, online magazines, and plain text into displays. The Archive section of the site has a dynamic format that allows for instant filtering and various displays of artist names and keywords.

The BC Government Caucus website is a massive WordPress Multisite installation featuring one core site and one sub-site for each of the Liberal Party caucus members. The site also has an advanced "MLA Finder" section in which a visitor can find her closest Liberal MLA throug a map search or by entering an MLA name or her constituency.

The Ciao Bambino! project involved bringing a 10 year old site into the modern web by translating the existing content into a new CMS structure and rebuilding it from the ground up. The design work for this project was done by Komposit Creative and Morten Rand-Hendriksen was responsible for the technical architecture and WordPress development.

Community is at the core of Christianity. Although we live in a world connected by technology, in many areas, it is causing physical distance. SameRoad is an online application that utilizes technology to connect individuals to their local Christian communities, by identifying, informing, and illuminating the beauty of the Christian churches.

 For the undergraduate project thesis, I wanted to do a project that is related to fashion. I’ve always been fascinated by the chemistry between graphic design and fashion since most of these projects are more flexible and creative compared to many design situations.

Through researching the current fashion industry, I noticed that the main purpose seemed to be providing de­signs that followed changing trends. However, it is difficult to have similar designs and target consumers to compete with the bigger brands.

My area of interest for this project is urban agriculture. This year, I found an interest in gardening and started my own. I got a real satisfaction watching my produces grow. I noticed that community gardens are becoming more and more popular due to the high density of the city and the high cost of living. In my research, I found out that in 2006, the Vancouver City Council issued a challenge to establish more food producing gardens. At that time, the challenge was to have 2010 garden plots by 2010 Olympic. Not only was this challenge met, but also at the beginning of 2010, the expectation was exceeded. Vancouver next challenge is to build 5000 plots by 2020 as part of its strategy to become the world’s greenest city.

 In the spring of 2012 I worked with GreySky Thinking to put on a speakers event for students and new designers to hear professionals in the industry share their stories and advice around the transition from design school and how they got to where they are now. Presentations were followed by an audience participatory design jam with the firms around how to better connect ECUAD Design students to industry in Vancouver.

This project was about re-designing the current website and an interactive
installation in order to promote the wood material, Corelam which was invented by one of our Industrial Design instructor in Emily Carr. We wanted visually communicate to the users that Corelam is beautiful, sustainable, and functional.
