"Graphic/Communication designers have a unique ability to communicate visually, however their talent is often restrained by client needs. We want to give graphic designers an outlet to create freely, and to use their skills to inspire, challenge and make a positive difference in a non-commercial way.
David Suzuki Legacy Campaign
description
This advocacy campaign was designed for the environmental non-profit, the David Suzuki Foundation. 2010 marked the beginning of David Suzuki's 'Legacy Lecture'. A legacy is known as an amount of money or property left or passed onto to someone else. In order to align the campaign with the direction of the organization it focused on how David is passing on his legacy to younger generations so they can preserve his life's work. He is the messenger transmitting his knowledge for everyone else to exploit. David is an iconic symbol of environmental activism but his current goal is to motivate people to create the environmental change he has worked his whole life to foster in the world.

After interviewing program organizers, as well as some of the children enrolled in programs, I determined that a fundraising tool would best benefit the organization.
Pace Society Promotional Fly-card
description
By, with, and for sex workers - PACE Society promotes safer working conditions by reducing harm and isolation through education and support. This school project requires students to create a promotional material for a non-profit organization. BackgroundOn September 28th, 2010, an Ontario court struck down three provisions that criminalize activities related to prostitution. Prostitution itself is not illegal in Canada but ancillary activities like advertising (communicating) and management ("living off the earnings") are criminalized. Ontario Supreme Court Judge Susan Himel cited evidence that these laws contribute to a climate in which sex workers are unsafe because they are forced to operate in secrecy.
Trancentive– Holistic Transportation Advocacy Group for Greater Vancouver
description

Despite the new expansion and opening of the Canada Line, Vancouver’s transit system still has many aspects of inefficiency that is due to preliminary organization/treatment of each means of transport as seperate entities instead of a whole. The ideal Transport system is holistic hence efficient, and we will eventually get there, but should it take as long as it is taking?
