QR_U (an open school) - Questions, Responses & Unofficial Conversations

video

description

QR_U can be described as a relational and networked project that intends to make visible the inside of an open school and to distribute the school's inquiry widely. Participants are presented with a series of questions about their relationship with the arts, learning and technology. 'QR’ in the project title is a play on the abbreviated form of QR code, which actually stands for Quick Response.

Robot Marker

description

The Robo Marker was made for my creative electronics class.  The assignment was to make a mark of any kind using electronic means.  In response i created a three foot long wearble robot arm, that gripped a pen, and with the flip of a switch, turned at the wrist and drew curved lines.

Primarily made from high density foam, and large popcicle sticks, it housed two high torque motors, and functioned well for about six minutes.

Ning Ning

description

"Ning Ning" is an interactive swarm of LEDs that reacts to both stillness and motion. Installed in a corridor or along a path, "Ning Ning" invites viewers to sit and stay a while, encouraging quietude by piquing the interest of passersby with dynamically choreographed LEDs masquerading as flirtatious lightning bugs.

Fireflies are magical. In some cultures they are thought to represent fallen stars or the souls of the deceased. As an indoor/outdoor installation, "Ning Ning" brings the magic of fireflies to both sides of the Rockies enchanting viewers as they walk by and inspiring them to embrace slowness and sparkle.
