This program is ideal for students who want to develop both a portfolio and a set of core skills in preparation for post–secondary training in art or design and get a taste of university life. Advanced Study Certificates are an expansion of the popular Certificate in Fine Art Techniques (CEFA). The CEFA program offers an introduction to contemporary issues in art, and the materials, techniques, and skills fundamental to fine art practice. To date, over 700 students have completed CEFA, and a significant number of graduates return to take additional courses in their area of concentration. The Advanced Study Certificate is a way to meet the needs of these students by building a robust pathway of advanced study in areas in which Continuing Studies already offer a significant numbers of courses.
