Rodney Konopaki is a Vancouver-based artist and Associate Professor in the Faculty of Visual Art and Material Practice at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. His practice is grounded in print media, drawing and painting.

Five new projects, ranging from banners and posters to videos and a mural, have joined Vancouver’s public art collection in an exhibition to honour and celebrate the City’s Year of Reconciliation.

The City’s Public Art Program commissioned 10 new artist projects overall with the first five debuting in March 2014 and new projects being introduced monthly through August 2014.

Moire, an artist publication established by Ella Dawn McGeough, Colin Miner and Liza Eurich ('10), launches Issue 2, "Crusty Crunchy Roundy Smoothy".

Each issue focuses on a specific artistic practice through the production of texts, interviews, photographs and collaborative projects. The content exists and is made available in pdf format for download.

Issue 2 introduces the practice of New York based artist Amy Brener, as interviewed by artist and educator Kelly Jazvac.

Presentation House Gallery is proud to launch Stan Douglas: Synthetic Pictures, an exhibition of new photographs by world-renowned Vancouver artist and Emily Carr alumnus Stan Douglas ('82).

His complex artworks interpret the social impact of optical technologies. Frequently borrowing from popular culture and literary sources, Douglas examines the legacies of modernity and historical narratives of socio-cultural events through photographs, film and installation.

Remembering Molly Lamb Bobak

A much-beloved 1941 graduate of the Vancouver School of Art (now Emily Carr), Molly Lamb Boback went on to serve as Canada's first and only female war artist during the Second World War.

Molly went on to pursue a peace-time career in painting and drawing. She and her husband moved to Fredericton to teach at the University of New Brunswick in 1960.

She passed away March 1, 2014 at the age of 94 at the Veterans Health Unit in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Dylan Moore | Art About Finn Slough Exhibition

Dylan Moore ('13) is exhibiting in the 14th Annual Art about Finn Slough Show at the Richmond Cultural Centre - his first exhibition showcasing his original comic book artwork.

Presented by the Finn Slough Heritage and Wetland Society and sponsored by the Richmond Art Gallery, the show features a limited edition comic and original artwork by Moore in collaboration with Lisa-Jo Ozland.

Andres Wanner | Art-Science residency at TRIUMF published in Symmetry Magazine

As part of his Low Residency MAA internship, Andres Wanner (MAA 2013) completed a residency at TRIUMF. Symmetry Magazine has published an article about his work during that period.

Sixteen years after graduating as a nuclear physicist, following a long period of working as a digital designer and educator, Andres Wanner again immersed himself in a physics environment at TRIUMF, Canada’s national laboratory for particle and nuclear physics. Midway through a second Masters degree in Visual Arts, he was curious to revisit his scientific past from a different, artistic perspective.
