Please join the Aboriginal Gathering Place for a free movie night at 4:30pm on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the IMS theatre, Room D1400 on Level 1.

The selection for the first movie is "The Road Forward,” a musical documentary by B.C. filmmaker Marie Clements.
The film connects a pivotal moment in Canada’s civil rights history—the beginnings of Indian Nationalism in the 1930s—with the powerful momentum of First Nations activism today. The Road Forward’s stunningly shot musical sequences, performed by an ensemble of some of Canada’s finest vocalists and musicians, seamlessly connect past and present with soaring vocals, blues, rock, and traditional beats. A rousing tribute to the fighters for First Nations rights, a soul-resounding historical experience, and a visceral call to action.

Popcorn, tea and water will also be on hand! No need to RSVP, and seating will be first-come, first-served.

We look forward to seeing you on the 23rd!
