Living Labs + Microsoft
by Living Labs
Graduation year: 2013
In April 2013, Emily Carr's Living Labs research centre partnered with Microsoft to host a 3-day workshop with the intent to get the Surface into the hands of designers and see what possibilities would emerge.
Emily Carr students, studying interaction design, industrial design, communication design and interactive and social media arts, worked with key stakeholders from Microsoft to play, explore, and ask questions around the interface of this new tool.
Key participants in workshop included:
- Emily Carr students – Interaction, Industrial and Communication Design; and Interactive and Social Media Arts
- Kate Armstrong, Director, Living Labs
- Haig Armen and Helene Day Fraser, Faculty, Design + Dynamic Media, Emily Carr
- Tommy Lewis and Ralf Groene, Microsoft Surface
