The Career Development + Work Integrated Learning Office connects students and alumni with local, national and international employers in the creative industries and beyond. We offer career advising, clinics and strategy sessions, drop-in and individual advising, access to co-op learning opportunities, internships and partnerships, as well as the Artswork career portal.

Drop-In Hours

During the regular academic year, the Career Development + Work Integrated Learning Office has drop-in hours to answer your general questions. Drop-ins are limited to 10 minutes. If your question cannot be answered within this time we will schedule an appointment for you or recommend you attend a scheduled Workshop/Session.

Individual Appointments

Individual appointments are available for students and, subject to availability, for alumni. To sign up for a 30 minute appointment, email us with:

  • Student Name
  • Student Number
  • Preferred appointment time + one back up time
  • Please include a brief description of the topic you would like to discuss.

Appointments are scheduled on a unique need basis. If possible, students should attend the corresponding Clinic/Session offered for their topic of inquiry prior to booking a one-on-one appointment

Clinics + Sessions

During the regular academic year, the Career Development + Work Integrated Learning Office offers a series of workshops in a wide range of career-related topics.

Career + Professional Development Events for Students

The Career Development + Work Integrated Learning Office hosts a variety of planning and info sessions for students. Follow us on Twitter and check our listings in the Emily Post, Emily Carr's bi-weekly internal news and events email, and on the ECU event calendar.

Interested in Co-op?

As part of our Work Integrated Learning program, ECU offers co-op opportunities. In order to be eligible to apply, students must meet the following criteria:

* Currently enrolled in one of Emily Carr's undergraduate programs
* Successfully completed all second year courses
* Minimum 3.0 GPA
* Minimum of 3 Open Studio Elective credits available in their program for every semester of the co-op
