#tearitdown2018 at UNIT/PITT Projects is an art exhibition using poster kiosks instead of a gallery to take aim at the hypocrisy of those in power, featuring alumnus Juan Cisneros Neumann.

Street posters are covered up, torn down, and frequently disappear completely, just as the buildings of our city are torn down and replaced over and over, and just as our homes and incomes are easily destroyed at the whim of investors, bureaucrats and governments.

They are continuously tearing these things down, but for us to say TEAR IT DOWN in response to capitalism will be viewed as aggressive and unreasonable, even if we’re just making art.
