Fabricated Forms Opening Reception, July 13, 7-10 PM | Reclaimed Purpose Opening Reception, July 20, 7-10 PM | The Shadows Projection Opening Reception, July 27, 7-10 PM
Alumnus Holden McIntosh (2017) is having 3 Solo Exhibitions in the month of July at LIGHTS OUT Space (8940 Oak Street) in Oak Street Studios. The first of these exhibits is Fabricated Forms running from July 13 - 15, which features works with more traditional mediums such as paint on stretched canvas, ink on paper, and plastic on wire armature. The simplicity of materials used in these pieces allows for a more direct perception of forms.
The second of these exhibits is called Reclaimed Purpose, which showcases paintings and sculptures which focus on integrating detritus and discarded objects. The use of found objects investigates the expressive qualities inherent in the materials.
The final exhibit is The Shadows Projection, which explores the relationships between light and matter. Shadows are cast from sculptures, reprocessed videos of moving sculptures and shadows, as well as electronic sculptures which sense and respond to changes in luminosity.|
To experience McIntosh's multi-disciplinary, multimedia art, visit LIGHTS OUT studios, open on Fridays from 7-10 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM-6 PM.
