The exhibition considers various aspects of comfort in relation to books including their textural qualities, and also reflects on those who don’t have the resources to experience it. Through artists’ books such as Mirror Box by Ulises Carriòn, Shuffle by Christian Marclay, and Shelter by Henk Wildschut, we explore the juxtapositions between what is comfort, and what can interrupt or deny someone access to it.

Throughout the week there will be three small happenings where the books will be available to handle. Join us in our comfy space for an open discussion/question period, an interactive event about what comfort is to you and a tea party. Bring your ideas, mugs and ears.
