David Reinfurt | A *New* Program for Graphic Design

A six hour lecture performance with New York-based artist presented in collaboration with the Ian Gillespie Faculty of Design + Dynamic Media.
COMD Studio | Level 3, Emily Carr University
Join Fillip and New York–based artist David Reinfurt on Saturday, May 25, at Noon at the COMD Studio, Emily Carr University of Art + Design for a six hour lecture performance presented in collaboration with the Ian Gillespie Faculty of Design + Dynamic Media.
Designed to provide a general yet rigorous graphic design education for students of all backgrounds and levels, Reinfurt will compress three semesters of his Princeton University graphic design curriculum into six 45-minute lectures (with breaks in between). Through a series of in-depth historical case studies that synthesize the pragmatic with the experimental, this lecture builds on mid- to late-twentieth-century pedagogical models to create a practical guide to understanding and shaping the increasingly networked world of information and design.
Reinfurt’s lecture forms the basis of an upcoming book of the same name published co-published by Inventory Press, Los Angeles, and Distributed Art Publishers, New York.
Entrance is free but space is limited and an RSVP is required.
