Guylaine Dionne will share insights into creative storytelling across borders and generations and discuss her research on artificial intelligence and screenwriting. Through film excerpts, case studies, and interactive discussions, participants will be invited to reflect on cinema as both a medium of memory and invention.

Guylaine Dionne is a filmmaker and professor at Concordia University in Montreal whose films have won international prizes. Among her notable achievements are The Three Madeleine (2000), selected for the Directors' Fortnight at the 32nd Cannes Film Festival, and Waitress Wanted (2008), nominee at the Soirée des Prix Jutras. Exploring approaches to both fiction and documentary filmmaking, her work tackles issues of representations, women’s voices, music, and cultural diversity. Her current research reflects her concerns for the use of artificial intelligence, and raises vital questions about authorship, diversity, and the future of cinema.
