Deborah Koenker | Grapes and Tortillas

Over a two year period Koenker has visited Okanagan communities to meet Mexican temporary agricultural workers who provide low-cost labour in the greenhouses, farms, and vineyards in BC under the Seasonal Agricultural Workers Program (SAWP).

This solo exhibition at the Kelowna Art Gallery runs until October 30, 2016 with a published full-colour catalogue of images and essays. Writers include Liz Wylie, Curator (Kelowna Art Gallery), Randy Lee Cutler, (ECU Associate Professor), Juan Fellipe Herrera, (USA poet laureate), and John Vaillant (author, The Golden Spruce, The Jaquar's Children).
