The 2024 Grad Studies X Research Ethics Intensive is a pilot program for First Year Master’s students.

Part One (Feb 20-24) provided students with ways to prepare for research and creative thesis projects that involve people as participants.

Part Two (April 22-29) offers studio sessions for graduate students completing research ethics applications for work with participants in summer, 2024. Three session include direct assistance from Emily Carr University specialists and staff.

**All students who are planning participant research in the summer are strongly encouraged to prepare research ethics applications during GSXRE Part 2.**

Registratiuon will provide students with the link to the online studio sessions, as well as invitations to the online course. Short presentations will be followed by opportunities to work on REB applications and wording for consent processes, or to get more information on the topics.

Monday, April 22 1-4pm - Research + Creative Practice Consent Processes Studio with Nadia Beyzaei (Researcher, Health Design Lab) and Lois Klassen (Coordinator, Research Ethics)

Tuesday, April 23 1-4pm - Data Management Plan (DMP) Studio with Hillary Webb (Systems and Technical Librarian, Emily Carr Library)

Wednesday, April 24 1-4pm Research Ethics Application Writing Studio with Sara Osenten (Learning Specialist, Writing Centre)

April 25, 26, 29 (by appointment) - ECU-REB Feedback on research ethics applications (drafts or submitted)
