IM4 will be co-hosting with USAY for an XR Cultural Processes Workshop that focuses on going through the cultural processes when creating an XR project, with a case study on USAY’s VR projects.

Led by LeeAnne Ireland, this workshop focuses on going through the cultural processes when creating an XR project, with a case study on USAY’s VR projects. Topics will include the process of inviting Elders, language integration, art development, community development and more.

About LeeAnne Ireland
LeeAnne is a mixed-race, Anishnaabee person from the Treaty 1 region. LeeAnne graduated from Trent University with a degree in Indigenous Studies, and has been the Executive Director at the Urban Society for Aboriginal Youth (USAY) since 2008. LeeAnne primarily focuses on social justice issues facing Indigenous youth living in the Calgary area, and with their involvement, creates programs, tools, and supports that foster healing, well-being, and empowerment. LeeAnne’s goal is to shift the narrative of Indigenous people to showcase the strength, resiliency, and vibrancy that Indigenous people possess throughout the world.
